DONNELLSON — There were five minutes of rain Saturday at Green Acres Golf Course then blue skies and a median temperature of 70 degrees for the Central Lee Invitational high school golf tournament.
Central Lee swung its way to victory behind meet medalist Mylan Lowenberg’s 1-over-par round of 73. Four Hawks teammates shot under 90 to give the team a 14-stroke triumph over Davis County. Fort Madison was third, Keokuk was fifth and Holy Trinity sixth.
Runner-up medalist was Davis County’s Tucker Bish with at 79. Three golfers posted a round of 80.
Central Lee’s Caleb Larson carded a 39-41 for his 80.
Lowenburg shot a 1-over-par 37 on his first nine holes and was even par 36 for his back nine. Brady Wade of Fort Madison came home with a 41 after opening with a 40.Jaydan Thomas led Keokuk with a 93, shooting a 43 then a 50.
