The Burlington Police Department is investigating a shooting after the victim showed up at the hospital early Tuesday morning.

At around 12:19 a.m., officers were called to the emergency department at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center for a report of a man with a single gunshot wound to the leg, according to a press release from the Burlington Police Department.

The man’s injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.

The location where the man was shot in unknown at the time, according to police.

The Burlington Police Department says the incident appears to be isolated and that the facts and circumstances surrounding the case remain under investigation.
